The JK brake parts on this page are the two that turn the ABS and traction lights on more often than a failed caliper: the anti-lock module and the front wheel-speed sensors. Late JKs built after mid-2014 use module 68259556AE. Earlier trucks use different module numbers, so the label on the old unit matters more than the model year on the door sticker.
A front sensor is the cheap failure. It sits at the hub, where mud, rust, and a harness stretched by a lift all show up as the same lights. A module failure looks similar from the driver's seat: ABS, traction, and ESP together, sometimes with a speedometer that drops out. A new module has to be programmed to the VIN. Check the sensor, the connector, and power and ground before you spend on the module.
This is a lookup for those two common-failure parts, not a full brake catalog. Pads, rotors, and calipers are not listed. If the pedal goes to the floor, the Jeep pulls under braking, or fluid is leaking at a wheel, that is a hydraulic problem, not a warning-light problem.
What this category covers
- Late-JK ABS control module 68259556AE, and why a rebuild of the original unit keeps the VIN coding
- Front wheel-speed sensor 68003281AA, listed for either front wheel on 2007–2018 JKs
- How a code that names one wheel differs from a communication or internal module fault

Each row links to the child part page for that SKU: the current Mopar number, what it supersedes, aftermarket cross-references, failure symptoms, and whether to rebuild or replace. Every number on those pages cites a source.

When to replace
Read the codes first. A fault that names one front wheel is a sensor or harness job. Communication codes such as U0121, or internal module faults, point at the module only after power, ground, and the connector pins check out. Replace a sensor; there is nothing to rebuild. For the module, rebuild the original unit when the housing and pump are intact. Buy new when a rebuilder rejects it or the housing is damaged. A new module needs a scan tool and VIN programming.
Safety
ABS and traction control are part of the stability system. A warning light that stays on means those systems may not step in. Do not clear the light and keep driving as if it were a bulb. Brake hydraulic work, including bleeding and any hydraulic control unit under NHTSA campaign 24E100000, belongs with someone who can pressure-test the system afterward. Chock the wheels before you pull a hub sensor.
